Charles Dickens’ Chalet Model

Mini-Chalet Visits the Annual Conference of the Dickens Fellowship (2025)

The ‘Mini-Chalet’, a scale model of Charles Dickens’ writing chalet, ‘visited’ the conference of the International Dickens Fellowship on 14 July at Canterbury. As expected It was very well ‘received’. Delegates were very supportive of restoring the Chalet as a memorial to Charles Dickens and using it to inspire future generations of creatives and storytellers.

Steve & Clare from Gad’s Hill Place add to the ‘Welcome’ along with Geoff, Sam and Duncan who are championing the restoration and the revival of the Chalet as a memorial to Dickens and as a cultural, educational and economic asset for Rochester and Medway

Steve and Claire from Gads’ Hill Place – the original setting for the Chalet were impressed by ‘Mini-Chalet’. The challenge is now to restore and make the original Chalet just as ‘appealing’.
